The Jet’s picked Sam Darnold at number 3 in the 2018 draft.
It appears that they may picking another QB in the 2021 draft. This time his name is Zack Wilson, the QB from BYU. Since 1938 11 QB’s have been drafted from BYU to play in the NFL. There were an additional 2 QB’s considered Notable undrafted players for a total of 13. So, you tell me what the odds are that Zack Wilson will the guy to bring the Jet’s to a Super Bowl. I continue to wonder what Sam Darnold could have done if he had supporting cast, like a front line, top ranked Wide Receiver and tight end and a halfway decent running back. Oh, and yeah a coach.
Was It Darnold’s Fault?
I think you might have seen a different Darnold. There truly is no way of knowing if Zack Wilson will work out.
There is one thing in his favor. I understand that the Patriots were looking at him as well. Seen on nbcsports.com, “Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported that Pats exec Eliot Wolf is attending Wilson’s session in Provo.” It is unlikely that he will still be on the board at #15 which is the Patriots first round pick. Remember Bill Belichick picked Tom Brady in the 6th round 20 years ago.
Oh, there is one other thing. Does anyone remember Jim McMann or Steve Young? Both of them were drafted from BYU.
