“The Great White Hope”, a phrase coined by Jack London (yes, the Jack London that wrote “The Call of the Wild”) The phrase began after Jack Johnson, a black fighter won the heavy weight title. He defeated a Canadian boxer, Tommy Burns, who replaced Jeff Jeffries. Jeffries retired rather than fight a black boxer. Jack Johnson became the first Black Heavyweight champion in December of 1908.
Joe Manchin should be considered “The Great Conservative Hope”.
Joe Manchin has the power to determine the direction of the country. He could be the most influential senator in congress today. What puts him in that position is the results of the 2020 election. There are currently 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans. That is virtually a tie-50/50. Kamala Harris now becomes the deciding vote in any 50-50 votes.Joe Biden is not the most powerful person in Washington!
Unless you have been asleep for the last 4 years you know that she is a strong progressive. Her vote could be the deciding vote on many controversial issues, unless! That’s right, unless Joe Manchin doesn’t vote with the democrats. If he votes with the Republicans on an issue, for example, like forgiving student loans, then kamala doesn’t get to vote. That is of course if the entire 50 republicans say together.
The future of our Republic could be in Joe Manchin’s hands.
In my opinion this makes Joe Manchin the most powerful Senator in office today. He possesses more power than Kamala due to the fact she doesn’t vote unless Joe throws the ball into her court.
There are several key votes that are going to be impacted by his vote if brought to the floor. A bill forgiving student loans, a bill to pack the supreme court (add more than the 9 judges on the court now), a bill to end the filibuster, and a bill to add Washington DC and Puerto Rico as states. If this happens it would leave the current minority party with no way to stop any bill the democrats bring to the floor.
So, Joe, will you help keep our Republic as the founding fathers viewed it?
Will you allow the likes of The Squad, led by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, turn us into a Socialist country.
The long term consequences are severe.
Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris want to fundamentally change our country? Socialism, in essence the redistribution of wealth, is their agenda.
Can you tell me one country that experimented with socialism that is better than the United States to live in. Just look at Venezuela.
