Will the Draft Picks and Acquisitions Help the Jets?
Let’s hope so. I think that the Jets will have a better team and record this year than last year. I guess it couldn’t get too much worse. In my opinion Joe Douglas did a good job in both Draft Picks and Acquisitions in the off season.
Will the Jets be going to the playoffs?
In my opinion they won’t. The best they could do would be a wild card. If you saw the Buffalo Bill game on Thursday night you know why. That being said they will be a much improved team in my opinion, but a lot of questions remain. The Jets continue to be plagued by injury to key players. Michael Becton goes down again, and now his replacement is gone as well. Oh, and what about Zach Wilson. Two seasons in a row with an injury to the same knee.
What can you hope for as a Jet fan?
I personally would like to see the Jets at at least 8 and 9 for the season. That is not great but it will be an improvement. My 2 biggest questions are how good is Rob Saleh and Zack Wilson? Neither of them have proven themselves yet. It appears that Rob Saleh is liked by the players, but will they play their best for him? Will he be able to turn some of the players acquired in the draft into talents in the NFL. Many first time head coaches fail at their first attempt. Look at Pete Carrol. Fired after 1 season with the Jets and wins a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks.
Did the Jets blow another first round QB draft pick?
I truly hope not. I am not going to bury Zack Wilson. He hasn’t had enough playing time to know what he will be in the NFL. He was a 2 time bowl MVP when he played for BYU. If you are a Jet fan you probably heard the rumors about the Jet receivers liking the way Flaco threw the ball over Zack. I am not going to give alot of credence to that. Let’s let him get better and see what he can do. I for one am glad the Jets aren’t rushing him back. I hope that Flaco can turn the reins back to Zack at 2 and 2. That gives the Jets and Zack a chance to move forward with some hope.
