Zach needs to improve quickly!

Zach Wilson will have to improve quickly over his performance in the Green and White scrimmage last night at he Met Life Stadium. According to reports there were just under 20,000 fans in attendance. The normal New York fan tolerance for bad play didn’t manifest itself despite, Zach’s less than stellar play.

Zach was 11 for 24 with two interceptions and almost a third interception. He threw for a total of 112 yards and did not get in the end zone. His backup’s Mike White threw 2 TD’s and James Morgan 1 TD outshined Zach Wilson.

Darnold never had a chance

The Jets passed on Trey lance, Justin Fields and Mac Jones to pick Zach Wilson. Hopefully the Jets made the right decision in doing so. It will remain to be seen if they made a good choice letting Sam Darnold go to the Jaguars. It will very interesting to me to watch the progression of both these quarterbacks this season. What could Sam Darnold have done with the tools that Joe Douglas is providing Zach Wilson. I guess that question can never be answered, other  than to watch both quarterbacks this season.

A long way away from Joe Namath

It is not an easy task coming from college quarterback to an NFL starter. Even Joe Namath, (Broadway Joe) didn’t start until midway through his first season. It took Joe “Willie” Namath until 1969 to get to and win the Super Bowl. He is known for his emphatic declaration that they would beat the Baltimore Colt’s in the Super Bowl. He didn’t disappoint with his prediction.

So where are the Jets with Zach Wilson? That is a very good  question. I am not sure that the Jets know where they are. Hopefully Saleh can bring him along and get him ready for the first game of the season.I can tell you this, they need to hope that Zach is the real deal, especially after trading Sam Darnold. Could you imagine if Sam gets to the Super Bowl before Zach. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
