Jets Face Reality in 2nd Preseason Game

So here we are in week 2 of the NFL Preseason. The Jets did not look good in the game against the Giants. I believe they have a lot of the ingredients (players) that they need to be a playoff team. The problem is that they are missing a few key pieces to complete the puzzle.

Lets talk about Justin Fields. The Jets didn’t pick him up expecting him to be a long term solution to there QB problem. I believe after 2 games you can see why. Yes he certainly can run the ball. The problem is his passing game. For all intents and purposes it doesn’t exist.

The Jets need more than another receiver!

Many commentators talk about the Jets needing a second receiver to compliment Garret Wilson. That observation is most definitely true. But more importantly they need someone to throw the ball to whatever receivers they have. In my opinion Justin Fields is not that guy. I am hoping he can improve on his experiences with his previous teams, but I am not very optimistic.

In his brief appearances in the first 2 games he has targeted Garret Wilson 4 times and did not complete one pass. He is averaging 3.9 yards per reception. Certainly not what the Jets hoped for. Since none of the Jets starters are playing this Friday we will have to wait to the first regular season game to see what he can do. It is kind of ironic that will be against his former team, the Pittsburg Steelers and former Jet QB Aaron Rogers.

Unfortunately for the Jets Aaron Rogers will be out to prove the Jets wrong. I will have to give the edge to Pittsburg with Aaron Rogers at the helm. He is  a future Hall of Famer and will show why against the Jets in the opening game.
